Ruth Taylor

Ruth joined SCABAL as a Senior Architect in 2008. This followed a broad range of experience both prior to and after qualifying as an Architect in 2003. She worked with Cottrell & Vermuelen Architecture, Sarah Wigglesworth Architects and Dinwiddie MacLaren Architects where she gained as experience a Project Architect, in particular on Education projects as well as for community, arts, conservation and residential buildings.

Ruth frequently works on the early stages of projects developing briefs and managing dialogue with client groups and stakeholders and often continues this work monitoring the design process and delivery of projects on behalf of clients. Following her earlier work as Client Design Advisor (CDA) to St Marylebone School for City of Westminster’s BSF programme, she was a key member of SCABAL’s CDA team for six schools in London Borough of Camden’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, including the new UCL Academy and Swiss Cottage School, delivered in 2012. She continued to advise Camden and Hawley School on their new Hawley Primary School, delivered in 2016 as part of the section 106 agreement for the Hawley Wharf development. Over the past 10 years she’s consulted with multiple client and user teams and completed a host of detailed design briefs and feasibility studies.

Since 2015 Ruth has acted as the key client contact, consulting with the clients and their representatives and briefing and coordinating with the design team for multiple projects on the Fordham Abbey Estate, near Newmarket in Cambridgeshire, including the forthcoming Dojima Sake Brewery and Visitor Centre.
